Julian is a Managing Partner and Board Member of Drake Star and is also co-heading the German operations. As a seasoned tech and fintech investment banker, Julian has been specializing in structuring and executing M&A transactions and raising capital for over 20 years. Julian has been awarded ‘Investment Banker of the Year’ (Finance Monthly) and ‘Europe Deal of the Year’ (The M&A Advisor).
Julian focuses on FinTech and covers verticals like payments, WealthTech, InsurTech, BaaS, Open Banking, Trading, Tending, RegTech, LegalTech, Blockchain, and Crypto. He also publishes research and articles on current fintech market trends and developments and is a speaker and contributor to fintech industry events.
Julian started his career at Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt and London as an M&A and Equity Capital Markets banker. Afterward, he worked as Vice President with marketing responsibility in the technology team of the successor of the SG Cowen operations in Germany before co-founding Drake Star.
Julian holds a Diplom-Kaufmann from Heinrich Heine Universität Düsseldorf and studied at Universidad de Salamanca and Universitat d’Alacant (Erasmus scholarship).
