Sale of leading German shopping portal billiger.de to consortium of publishing houses

February 2009 – SevenOne Intermedia, the multimedia division of ProSiebenSat.1 Group, together with management and founders have sold 91% of the shares in solute GmbH, operator of leading German social shopping portal billiger.de, to a consortium of publishing houses led by yellow pages & directory publishers.

billiger.de is the best known shopping portal and provides one of the most comprehensive product offerings in Germany: 28 product categories cover more than 10 million products from over 1,800 direct partner online shops. In addition, billiger.de offers comprehensive product information, such as technical specifications, historical price development & current prices, user feedback, shop information, reviews, etc. billiger.de increased its number of unique users by 22% in December 2009 making it Germany’s leading price comparison site, according to Nielsen.
